Today we learned that squirrels typically have a long, bushy tail and small pointed ears. They also have sharp claws which they use to climb trees and gather food. They have thick fur coats which range in color from grey to red, to brown, and some species even have unique markings.
We also learned that squirrels gather and bury food for the winter. One of the things they hide is acorns. They also hide the food in hard-to-reach places, such as under bushes, to keep it safe from thieves.
