Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Every little boy and girl wants to make sure that Rudolph find their home for Santa to deliver presents.  What better way than to make magic reindeer food?

Here’s what you need:

Paper lunch bags

Precut white, black and red circles (I used a circle punch)

Precut brown antlers (I hand cut these)

Shredded Carrots

Oats

Sprinkles

Glitter

…and anything else you might want to add!

 I also found a site that has cute pre-made tags to attach to the bags

  The kids were so excited to take home their 'magic reindeer food' 

and sprinkle it on the lawn!

 I'm sure Rudolph found his way to every home on Christmas Eve!

Decorating {sort of} a Gingerbread House

We tried to keep the gingerbread house together.  It just didn't happen!

So we improvised and made collapsed gingerbread houses.

The kids certainly didn't mind at all.  It still tasted great!

Sneezy the Snowman

 We started this activity by reading the story Sneezy the Snowman. If you don't have this book yet, it is a must! It's all about a snowman who tries different things to get warm. The problem is he just melts. The kids LOVE it!! 

Items you need:

shaving cream

elmers glue

cut out snowman items

Mix shaving cream and glue.  I used 3 part shaving cream with 1 part glue.

A little trick for this mixture is to teach your kiddos to scoop some onto the paintbrush but then twirl their brush. It can be a little stringy and create quite the mess transferring from the plate to their paper. We learned this the hard way. YIKES!

Although there was a big mess, it was SO worth it...

Christmas Tree Pom-Pom Push Game

This activity is a great way to work on fine motor skills, colors and shapes with your toddler while giving them a Christmas tree they can actually play with!

Supplies you need:
shoe box
tree template
construction paper
craft knife
tape and glue
pom-poms

1. Print out the Christmas Tree Printable on green construction paper and glue it to the box lid.  I cut out a yellow start to put on top of the tree.
2. Use the craft knife to cut out the smaller inside circles on the printable.
3. I cut out different colors and shapes to glue over the holes to make the game a bit more challenging.
4. When your toddler is ready to play, give them craft poms in the colors of the “ornaments” and let them enjoy pushing the poms into the holes of the box.  For older toddlers you can encourage them to put the colors in the correct holes, or just let them play!
