What is “Magic Reindeer Food” you ask?
It’s oats mixed with glitter that the kids sprinkle on the lawn on Christmas Eve to be sure that the reindeer don’t miss the house!
(Be sure the kids don’t eat the reindeer food!)
Have you heard of this fun idea?
I learned of it when my boys were in elementary school.
I am definitely doing this one with my day care kids.
I know they will LOVE it!

Here’s what you need:
Paper lunch bags
Precut white, black and red circles (I used a circle punch)
Precut brown antlers (I hand cut these)
Baggies
Oats
Sprinkles
Glitter
…and anything else you might want to add!

I added a tag and poem to attach to the bag.
It has once been said,
that right before you go to bed,
that you should wrinkle magic reindeer food,
to quickly bring Santa and his brood.
For many years the legend has been told,
to boys and girls, both young and old,
sprinkle the food through out your yard,
the finding your house won't be so hard!
The reindeer can smell the food for 100 miles,
Just do not leave it in big piles!
After you do this you must go to sleep very fast,
so Santa and his reindeer will not pass!
I also found a cute site that has cute pre-made tags.
The kids were so excited to take home their 'magic reindeer food' and sprinkle it on the lawn so that Santa's reindeer can find their homes.
Make sure you leave a carrot treat too!
