Fall Salt Dough Ornaments

We made these fun fall salt dough ornament decorations.  I remember making these in elementary school.  I thought I'd try with the kids.  The first thing you need to do is make the salt dough.
Recipe:
1/2 cup salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
Directions:
Mix together and knead.  (You will have to help the children knead).

Roll dough into 1/4" thickness.

Use cookie cutters to make shapes.
Punch a little hole so the ornament can hold a string.
Bake in oven 250 for 2 1/2 hours.
Let cool before painting.

Decorating:
You will need Modpodge, acrylic paint (I used fall colors: yellow, red, orange and brown) and jute string.
 Paint.
Let dry
Add modpodge for a glaze effect.
Let dry
Add string.
The children gave these cute ornaments to their parents for a Thanksgiving gift.

Turkey Songs

Hello Mr. Turkey
tune (if you're happy and you know it)
Hello Mr. Turkey, how are you? (clap, clap)
Hello Mr. Turkey, how are you (clap, clap)
With a gobble, gobble, gobble (wiggle fingers under your chin)
And a wobble, wobble, wobble (move back and forth)
Hello Mr. Turkey, how are you? (clap, clap)

I am Mr. Turkey
tune (I'm a little teapot)
I am Mr. Turkey, big and fat.
On my tail are feathers; what d'ya think of that?
When I walk, I wobble, wobble, wobble.
And when I talk, I gobble, gobble, gobble.

We eat turkey
tune (Frere Jaques)
We eat turkey, we eat turkey.
Yum, yum, yum.  Yum, yum, yum.
Always on Thanksgiving.
Always on Thanksgiving.
Yum, yum, yum.  Yum, yum, yum.

Thanksgiving Day
tune (bingo)
Thanksgiving day will soon be here.
I'm ready for some turkey.
T U R - K E Y, T U R - K E Y, T U R - K E Y (clap for each letter)
I'm ready for some turkey.

My feathered friend

Don't you get tired of doing the same turkey crafts over and over during the Thanksgiving season?
I decided to take scrapbook paper with a different theme other than the normal fall colors and make a turkey with patterned feathers.

How cute is that?
