Feather Fun

We took our left over feathers from the Easter Chick craft and learned how light they are, how we can blow them to keep them in the air and how cool they look when they are falling to the ground.

Easter Chick Craft

This Easter craft is simple and fun!

Cut out a 'chick' shape from contact paper.

Use making tape to tape the contact paper onto a table surface.

Place  the masking tape over the edges of the contact paper, sticky side up.

Add yellow feathers to the sticky contact paper.

Remove masking tape.

Cover with contact paper.

We glued the 'chick' to a piece of construction paper.

Added wiggly eyes.

Drew chicken feet.

Easter Science Project

If you are looking for some fun, educational and inexpensive things to do with your kids, all you need is a few supplies and some ideas for experiments.

Things you will need:

Baking Soda

Vinegar

Empty plastic eggs

Bowls

Food coloring

Directions:

Place baking soda inside the eggs.

Set up bowls with food coloring in them.

Have the kids "crack" the eggs over a bowl, emptying the baking soda.

Pour vinegar on top of the mixture.

Watch the fizz begin!

Stained Glass Easter Eggs

This is a very easy Easter craft for toddlers to do.

You will need:
Contact Paper
Masking Tape
Different colored tissue paper
Thread
Hole puncher

Cut an egg shape out of contact paper and tape the edges to the table.
Give the kids tissue paper to stick to the contact paper.

Remove the masking tape and cover with another piece of contact paper.

I punched a hole in the top and tied string so we could hang the egg up on the window.

The colors look so pretty shining in the sun.

Easter Duck

I found yellow puffy bath sponges at Wal-mart for $1, then cut out foam pieces for the eyes, beak and feet.

I helped the children use tacky glue to glue the pieces onto the sponge. 

NOTE:  Don't use a hot glue gun (the sponge will melt).

After the craft we played Duck-Duck-Goose!

Jelly Bean Game

This fun game focuses on counting and graphing.

Plus they are yummy to eat!

I made a cutout of an easter basket and drew columns with color codes on the top.

Place a small bowl of jelly beans out and have the children match the jelly beans to the correct color and place it in that column.

Reinforce the activity

Have the child count the number of jelly beans in each column. 

Additional math skills

After the child counts one column, let her eat one of the jelly beans.  Then have her recount the column. Explain that she had 5 beans, ate 1 and now has 4 beans.

The leprechauns were hiding all around the room.

It was up to the children to find them ALL!

He was hiding in some tricky places.
